How to Subscribe
For Individuals Who Belong to Subscribing Institutions
Out of respect for the creative process and in recognition of the intellectual property issues involved, IRMS will maintain the highest of ethical standards in our lending policies for our licensed resources.
For some time now it has been the policy of Iowa Religious Media Services to loan resources at no charge to individuals who belong to congregations who have purchased an annual subscription. It is the assumption of IRMS that these resources are only for the personal use of the borrowing individual.
In response to an increasing number of requests by individuals to use resources borrowed from IRMS through a church membership in that individual’s work environment, IRMS affirms that we will not knowingly provide resources for use in this context. Such usage is outside the scope of the licensing arrangements made between IRMS and the publishers of our resources at the time of purchase.
Likewise, an individual associated with a non-subscribing institution is barred from checking out resources for usage at a non-subscribing institution through another church’s subscription.
As an Iowa Religious Media Services subscriber, your church or institution and its members and employees are entitled to unlimited use of the library for a nominal yearly fee. While DVDs and videos comprise the majority of our collection, we also carry books, cassettes, games and other resources. Several thousand resources are available to you, covering such topics as:
- Bible Study
- Christian Education
- Missions and Justice
- Social Issues
- World Religions and much more
IRMS subscription fees are based on the number of members in the church. Any church may join IRMS. The six subscribing denominations of IRMS determine the fee schedule for churches within their jurisdictions. All other churches and organizations are designated as full subscribers.
To check your church’s fee, see the fee schedule below or call IRMS at 515-277-2920.
A church or institution may purchase a subscription for a year that entitles them to borrow materials free of charge, except for return shipping. The annual subscription fees for the following denominations are for churches inside the geographic areas listed (due to the direct denominational support IRMS receives from them). Churches outside of those areas or from other denominations are welcome to join IRMS at the full subscription price.
Non-subscribers may rent items individually from IRMS. Non-subscribing clients pay a weekly fee for each item rented (these vary from resource to resource) as well as any shipping that may be involved.
