Clients
may mail, e-mail, fax or phone in orders to IRMS. We ask that clients send long
orders in a written form rather than giving them over the phone as this reduces
the likelihood of errors.
Clients may order items up to one year in advance.
When
ordering, please include the following information: client number (the five
digit number found on any correspondence from us), client
name, client's daytime phone number, church name and denomination, address where
the material is to be sent, the resource number and title, and alternative dates
and/or titles if possible.
Shipping
within the state of Iowa
Our
resources are shipped via the U.S. Postal Service using the library rate.
Consequently, we recommend clients allow at least ten days for shipping when
planning their viewing schedules. If a resource is needed in less than ten days,
clients may still receive it in time via U.S. Post, but we cannot guarantee the
order will arrive by the requested date.
We
also offer clients the option of receiving resources via United Parcel Service
(UPS). There is a minimum $7 fee for this shipping method. If the fee exceeds
$7, the actual shipping cost rounded up to the next dollar will be charged. UPS
assesses a fee for deliveries to residences.
We
can ship overnight anywhere within the state of Iowa by using regular UPS
delivery. However, as there is no UPS standard delivery on Saturdays, Thursday
is the last day of the week that we can guarantee delivery for Sunday use.

outside the state of
Iowa Resources
sent outside the state of Iowa are automatically shipped via United Parcel
Service (UPS). (IRMS members are not charged an additional fee for this.) The
time needed for delivery will vary according to the receiving destination, but
we recommend clients outside the state of Iowa allow at least seven days for
shipping when planning their resource use. back

Special shipping Occasionally
resources are sent via United Parcel Service (UPS) even though the client placed
the order early enough for us to have used the U.S. Postal Service. This may be
due to the fact that the resource was not received from the previous client by
its due date. In this case, the client will not be charged the additional $7 UPS
fee. back

Shipping Insurance We
may use UPS to ship especially large orders or expensive resources. While
regular UPS shipping includes insurance up to $100, we may purchase additional
insurance when we ship to clients to cover resource replacement costs. Since
the client is financially responsible for the resources until they are back at
IRMS, we strongly encourage clients to return the resource(s) via UPS or another
insured delivery system, insuring the package for the full value of the
resources. In such cases, instructions to this effect will appear on the
invoice. (See Returns.)

Pick-ups Clients
in
Des Moines and its
suburbs pick up their orders here at IRMS. Our regular hours are from 8:30
a.m. 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Between Memorial Day and
Labor Day, we are open from 8:30 a.m. 4:30
p.m. back
to top Returns Clients
are financially responsible for any resources checked out until they are
returned to IRMS. (This includes guides and other materials that may accompany
an order). The invoice included with each order shows the due date for the
resources. In general, clients should plan to use the same shipping method by
which the resource arrived. An explanation will appear on the invoice if there
are special instructions for return shipping. Occasionally, resources can be so
tightly booked that we request a client ship to the next client waiting to use
the resource, and those instructions will appear on the invoice. A drop box is
located by our entrance for after-hours returns. back to top
Membership Church
membership fees are determined by each denomination and are based upon the
number of members in a given local church. Paying the yearly membership fee
entitles that church's members and staff to unlimited use of IRMS. Clients only
pay for return postage. IRMS sends out yearly renewal notices with fee
information. Please contact IRMS with any questions regarding membership.
Non-members
may rent individual resources by the week from IRMS. The weekly
rental charge is 20% of the purchase price of the resource or a
minimum of $6 (which means that some resources rent for $130 or
more). The rental price is indicated with the resource
description, though IRMS staff will always inform clients of any
rental fees included in an order before that order is sent. If we
must mail resources, the non-member client is charged $7 shipping
and handling for each order. If a non-member client plans to use a
number of resources in a years time, it will likely be less
expensive to purchase a membership rather than rent all of the
desired resources.
